  1. hey sven, what kind of gold investment do you prefer as a protection against a stock market crash? direct investments into a gold etc (like the iShares Physical Gold ETC) or stocks of the volatile gold miners?

  2. Oh man, miners are hard to value! The volatility makes it so hard to get a bit of a picture of future free cash flow as well as earnings.
I went ahead and dug into the financials of NCM and GG. From what I am seeing a fair value of $7.50 seems to be fair for both. For NCM this means quite a decline, for GG less so. GG has really been struggling with growth these last 5 years and is still declining. NCM has a better FCF position to their debt. Their sum of EPS for the last 10 years is -3.90… So it's mainly gold prices that move these stock. I feel that's rather speculative.

Am looking forward to an in-depth analysis of one of these miners!

  3. This is one of your moats Sven, nobody on youtube does these mining stock analysis. Thanks, looking for more.

  4. I became interested in mining as a result of relative starting work as a contractor in Mongolia. I’ve been researching/following companies for many years. Got to take my hat off to you Sven, can’t fault what your saying.

  5. This presentation is a must see for every body interested in the greater picture:

—-> It might not make you richer but it could make you wiser.

  6. As a hedge against sharp market drops – goldminers stocks dont work, as they move in correlation with market (S&P500). Because, after all, goldminers are businesses, as they have cash, AR, TR, LT debt etc, Sales, expenses, and exposed to economy condition as well.
Hence, for the purpose of hedge, why not go for gold ETF, e.g. – SPDR Gold Trust?:

  7. hmy 1.5 million oz for less then 1 billions us market cap 4-5x less the kl but 2x the production but higher all in cost , gran colombian gold( gcm in tsx tprff in usa ) , 220000 oz for less the 100 million us , this 2 is best risk reward i think

  8. Sorry Sven bu I really disagree on the Randgold comments. It's a company with excellent management that has a proven track record in Africa. It's been the best performing stock on the FTSE in the last 10-15 years. I think that says enough. If anything Barrick and its debt pile are riskier than Randgold and the jurisdictions where it operates.

  9. I'd be interested in Premier Gold review. Safe N America jurisdiction. Low AISC. Multiple site and partnered with major. Vanguard selling has put a downer on sp. Might be worth a punt for tax loss selling season starts. They are making the transfer from explorer to producer. Also disappointed q2 production but this is due to works on one of mines and one should take a longer term view. 20% underpinned by cash and no debt. Also like Polyus..

  10. have you been thinking about crypto as a new safe heaven? I don't mean you to invest in BTC but the other investors that in case of new financial crisis could move a lot more into crypto than into gold.

  11. Sven!!!!! Why don't you have AMI:ASX on your list?!?!?! I think it's much better than Northern Star….

  12. Great video Sven, cheers,
    lots of info.
Also not buying any of those, am only holding alio & ego. But fortuna silver & guyana gold are both on the watch list for me.
