Self-made pharmaceuticals billionaire Cindy Eckert — who was behind “female Viagra” drug Addyi — quipped at a South by Southwest Q&A of her start, “I’m Irish Catholic, so naturally I decided to go into sex.  My parents said, ” ‘Could you not have done a diabetes drug?’ ” When she was asked about how to build a brand with one’s spouse, she said of her partnership with co-founder Bob Whitehead, “Well, we’re divorced . . . We were much better business partners than spouses.”  The talk at the Inc. Founders House in Austin, Texas, was moderated by Eric Schurenberg, CEO of Inc.’s publisher.
